Mahindra Gusto Overview

Sometime ago, Mahindra two-wheeler entered in the 125cc scooter segment without having touched the 110cc market, which is considered a huge crumb of scooter sales in India. Now, they have realized the missing plug and rolled up their sleeves to get into the 110cc segment as well. To fulfil the purpose, Mahindra entered with its first home-grown 110cc scooter, Gusto.

Being the first offering from Mahindra, Gusto is loaded with features; a few of them are a 'first' for scooters in our market. The most fascinating aspect about this scooter is the manual seat height adjustment option. Its seat can be raised or lowered manually by 35mm, which is beneficial to riders of different height. It's one more smart feature is the self-locking mechanism on the seat that keeps it an upright position and the rider does not have to hold it while keeping and taking out belongings.

Mahindra Gusto Mileage


Mahindra Gusto is the first attempt by the its maker in the 110cc segment and they have proved it justified by having equipped their new scooter with efficient technically sound features so that it can deliver decent power as well as healthy mileage. A remarkable fuel-efficiency of 63kmpl is claimed by Mahindra for the Gusto.

Mahindra Gusto Engine & Transmission

The engine used in this scooter is a 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled with a displacement of 109.6cc. This decent M-TEC unit pushes out maximum power of 8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 9Nm at 5,500rpm. The automatic CVT transmission is responsive and offers a free flow of acceleration.

Mahindra Gusto Performance and Handling

Being a new engine, it actually works very well with the Gusto. Acceleration is smooth and despite the rubber-band effect of the CVT, it feels nippy and responsive. Handling too is decent enough for having an enthusiastic ride, or just potter around the city at an easy pace.
